Troy Dillinger
The Mountains Rock
by Adam Tanous
Troy Dillinger, thankfully, did not follow in the footsteps of his relative John. That would be the John of bank-robbing fame.
Rather, he entered the Austin Music Scene, which may be just as difficult to survive. Dillinger first stepped onstage when he was 15, and has been slugging it out for 19 years.
This week and the next, he will will bring his mix of old-fashioned rock-n-roll and folk music to Idaho & Montana at John's Alley in Moscow, The Roosevelt Tavern in Ketchum, The Blue Heron in Missoula, and The Silver Dollar Saloon in Butte - check listings for dates and times.
His CD "Troy Dillinger & A Guitar" is a solo acoustic recording more in the folk vein and is an enjoyable recording.
